Date: Thursday, May 18, 2017
Time: 6:30-8:30 pm
Location: Coverica Building Auditorium
5999 Summerside, Suite 200, Dallas 75252
Our speaker will be Tom Giovanetti, President of the Institute for Policy Innovation, speaking on the increasingly relevant topic of media bias. Mr. Giovanetti is an excellent speaker, who last spoke to our group May 19 of last year, on the perils of selecting security over privace. You can see the video of his presentation on the Videos page of this web site.
How bad is media bias, and more importantly how can we identify reliable news sources in a world full of "fake" news? Also, which liberal and conservative "news" sources are most biased?
Check-in is at 6:30 and the meeting will start at 7.
A Punchbowl invitation will be sent out later this month, and we will also create a Facebook event. Meanwhile, you can RSVP by sending your name, zip code and email address to RSVP@FarNorthDallasTeaParty.org (please specify Media Bias).
The Coverica building has plenty of parking, and the 2nd floor auditorium is huge and can be accessed either by staircase or elevator. There are two entrances, in the front and the back. From the main (front) entrance, you can go up the staircase, or bear left to take the elevator to the 2nd floor. We'd appreciate a $5 (or more) donation to help pay for the meeting room, our web site and the Punchbowl invitation system.
The doors will close at 7:30, so if you arrive after that please call the cell number we’ll provide in the Punchbowl invitation. That person will let you in. Keep in mind that once you leave, you won’t be able to reenter unless someone opens the door from the inside.
